Choosing and using the right fertilizer
How do I know which fertilizer fits my lawn?
Start with a soil analysis (in Belgium and the Netherlands): for €129 the Fertilab lab measures 20 parameters and you get a written 2-year fertiliser plan with the right products, dosage and timing. If you’d rather skip the test, take the 2-minute lawn quiz or email us a photo of your lawn.
What is the difference between the Basic and Pro lines?
Basic is a temperature-controlled slow-release granular (30 to 33% CRF) for homeowners who want a reliably green lawn with minimal fuss: ideally three feeds a year. Pro is the line for real lawn enthusiasts: a finer granule (1–2 mm) for quicker uptake and an intensive programme every 4 to 5 weeks. Never exceed the dose on the label.
Granular or liquid, which should I pick?
Granulars are your foundation: the seasonal feed you spread with a spreader. The liquid elixirs are mixed with water and sprayed on the lawn to fine-tune: colour, roots, density and more. Most programmes combine a granular base with one or more elixirs; the lawn calendar shows what fits each season.
Is your fertilizer safe for children and pets?
Always follow the label. Keep children and pets off the lawn while you spread or spray, store products closed and out of reach of children, and read the safety information from the label on each product page. A safety data sheet is available on request.
Will I burn my lawn if I apply too much?
The temperature-controlled release of the Basic line and the coated nitrogen in the Pro line make burning much less likely than with fast-release fertilizers, but over-application can still stress the grass. Never exceed the dose on the label and spread evenly with a spreader.
Delivery, tracking and payment
When will my order arrive?
We ship your order within 1 to 2 working days after payment. Delivery takes up to 7 days. You receive a track & trace link by email as soon as your parcel ships.
How much is shipping?
Shipping is free from €85 of products in Belgium, and from €125 to the Netherlands, Luxembourg and France, for every product. Below that, the cost depends on the weight and the country: you see it in the cart before you pay.
Which payment methods do you accept?
You pay securely through Mollie, with Bancontact, KBC/CBC, Belfius, Visa and Mastercard, Apple Pay and iDEAL. We never see or store your card details. Your order only exists after a successful payment.
Can I change or cancel my order after placing it?
If your order hasn’t shipped yet, email info@fertilize-it.be with your order numberand we’ll adjust or cancel it free of charge. Once it’s with the carrier, you can use your 14-day right of withdrawal.
Is there a maximum weight?
Yes, at most 30 kg per order (for example 3 bags of 10 kg). Need more? Email us: a larger order can be collected from us or delivered on a pallet.
Returns
What if I’m not happy with the results?
Send us photos and your application dates: we look at what’s going on and help you adjust the programme.
My pack arrived damaged. What now?
We’re sorry about that. First send photos of the damage and your order number to info@fertilize-it.be. We then send you a new one or refund you, at no cost to you.
Can I withdraw from my purchase?
Yes, within 14 calendar days of receipt, without giving a reason. Use the ‘Withdraw from contract here’ button at the bottom of every page or in your confirmation email. The cost of sending the products back is yours.
How the lab test works
What exactly does the soil analysis measure?
20 parameters in total: nitrogen (nitrate and ammonium), phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, sulphur and calcium; the trace elements boron, copper, iron, manganese, molybdenum and zinc; sodium, chloride and silicon; and on top of that conductivity, pH, organic matter and the clay-humus complex (CEC). You also see the soil structure (base saturation). The report explains what each result means for your grass, with a written 2-year fertiliser plan, not just a list of numbers.
How do I take a sample?
You take the sample and post it yourself; the postage is included in the price. Your kit includes a corer, a sample bag and a prepaid return envelope. Take 8–10 small plugs from across the lawn, mix them in the bag, and post it back. Full instructions are in the box and on the soil analysis page.
How long until I get my results?
You’ll have the full report and your written 2-year fertiliser plan in your inbox within 14 working days of the lab receiving your sample. The kit itself goes in the mail within 5 working days.
